Fort Lauderdale Fishing, Charter Fishing FT Lauderdale

There are so many wonderful things to say about Fort Lauderdale fishing and the entire FT Lauderdale region that we could write a book just on the areas incredible sportfishing.

There are many fine sportfishing destinations in USA coastal regions. There are northern sport fishing regions like Maryland or Virginia and then there are your southern regions like Texas or Louisiana in the Gulf of Mexico. Fine fishing spots indeed but they just can't even compare with Fort lauderdale fishing. Most sportfishing destinations in America aren't even in the same league with Fort Lauderdale sportfishing.

One of the major things that separates Fort Lauderdale fishing region from the average run of the mill fishing region is how close in to shore the big game sportfish are. Go fishing in a place like Virginia and you have to deal with a 3 1/2 hour boat ride to get some 70 to 90 miles offshore where the big billfish roam.

But go fishing in Fort Lauderdale and your boat ride is about 15 minutes and you are in the land of the giants, the giant sportfish that is. Incredible as it may sound it is 100% true, a Fort Lauderdale fishing charter only needs to run about 2 to 5 miles offshore tops and you are fishing for marlin, sailfish, wahoo, big sharks, and many other sought after big game species.

During your Florida fishing trip Captain Mark will use a variety of fishing techniques, depending on the weather and species sought. He may troll for dolphin, wahoo or king mackeral; kite fishing for sailfish and even deep dropping for those snapper and groupers.

These are just of few of the many ways that we fish. We will do "whatever it takes" to make this a fishing experience of a lifetime. If there is a particular fish you are after, just let Captain Mark know and he will target that species if it is at all available.

Fort Lauderdale Fishing Adventure

Your Fort Lauderdale fishing adventure begins...

On the day of your FT Lauderdale fishing charter we ask that you arrive 15 minutes prior to your trip time. This will give everyone a chance to get acquainted while you drink your morning cup a joe and discuss the types of fish you are interested in catching. It is decision time and you must decide if you want to put some fine tasting table fare in the fish box or if you want to patiently fish for the catch of a lifetime. Those big blue marlin are there and so are the sailfish but they are fewer and farther between than say catching a nice mess of snapper.

Once you make a plan of action with the Captain it is time to head on out to the Fort Lauderdale fishing grounds. The ride out is goes by really quick, about 20 minutes, which still gives you time to climb the fly bridge to ride with Captain Mark where you can enjoy the many Fort Lauderdale sites. If the bridge doesn't interest you then you can sit in the fully customized and air conditioned salon with the rest of your fishing party. Don't get to comfortable though because as we have said the ride is short and the fish are waiting.

Once in the ocean we usually stop to catch live bait. (Capt. Mark does not count the time used catching live bait against your trip time). After catching the bait, its time to go for that fish of a lifetime. Once back at the dock, we will gladly clean and bag your fish for you.
