Fishing Report for July 14 - July 24
The best way to describe the fishing off of Fort Lauderdale lately is...lots of action.
Almost every trip we have been limiting out on king mackeral. The average king has been about 8-10 lbs with quite a few being between 15-20 lbs and a few of them in the 30-40 lbs. Trolling the reef has been extremely productive for catching.
In the past 10 days, we have also had a large number of bonitos, quite a few barracudas and a few sailfish.
For those of you looking to shark fish, there are still a few nice hammerheads around. On Wednesday, we say about a 500lb hammerhead on the surface just tailing around checking things out. We had no reason to bait him so we just watched him swim around for awhile.
Summer time is a great time of year for all around catching. The type of fish that are on the reef are plentiful and usually very active. This is a great time of year to introduce children into fishing. There is plenty of action to keep their interest and what a way to have a family day.
We look forward to having you fish with us and hope everyone is having a great summer.
