What species are available while fishing in FT Lauderdale?
This must be the most asked question about Fort Lauderdale fishing. What will I catch? We understand that if you aren't an experienced angler you may not know what species are available in the Ft Lauderdale and South Florida fishing region. Well this answer might just excite you because we are often subject to catch fish bigger than our anglers.
It could be a shark of a few hundred pounds, could be an awesome billfish like a blue marlin that tops the scales at more than 200 or 300 pounds. We promise you that if you were to get hooked up to a blue marlin of this size you will never forget the awesome reel screaming, back aching, acrobatic excitement a fish of this caliber brings with it.
Other species available for the local Fort Lauderdale fishing charters include powerful schools of yellowfin tuna and all the pelagic species of the Atlantic like sailfish, white marlin, wahoo, dolphin, and swordfish. And you might think you have to go way offshore to catch big fish like these. Well in fact we only have to run a few miles, usually less than 3 miles offshore to get into the exceptional fishing grounds of Fort Lauderdale.
We also fish for more traditional "bottom fishing" species like snapper and grouper (just to mention a few). If there is a particular fish you are after, just let Capt.
